so this episode of Ghost Adventures is playing, and i got to thinking about my experience with demonic beings. also, how my family in California would react if they knew what happened. i mean, they dont believe in ghosts but i know they believe in demons. at least i think they do, since they read the Bible and such and there’s mentions of demons and demonic possessions in it.

i can imagine my dad scoffing, “uh-huh, how can you prove it?”

i can imagine karen giving me that “you’re a liar” look she seems to always give me whenever i talk about something that seems out of the ordinary.

i can imagine penelope…………..hm. cant imagine. im not allowed to talk to her about my paranormal hobby anyways. so i dont know if she will ever really know or get a chance to react.

i mean, how the hell (no pun intended) am i supposed to “prove” that i faced a demon in my room at the Stanley Hotel? i have two friends who were with me and im pretty sure they felt what i was feeling, the feeling that the Devil had walked in. i cant “prove” that while i held a crucifix and said a short cleansing prayer, my energy was drained as i said “Jesus Christ of Nazareth” and i had to sit down. i cant “prove” that my friend felt sudden pressure on the sides of her head. i cant “prove” the wonderful difference in the feeling of my room when i came back the next morning. i had stayed in my friends room because, i admit, i was too frightened to be alone that night.

it just makes me think about evil and how much is in this world. also makes me think of how brave the GAC is. they face this constantly. their job is to walk around in the dark and face stuff that could harm them physically and mentally, and have done so. its insane. these guys are seriously some of the bravest guys ever. they do it all for us, the people who want to understand the other side. and they taught me that im not insane, which was a very real fear for me in the years following my experiences with a shadow figure in my home.

my California family doesnt know about that experience either.

the episode also reminds me about Carl Lawson. im glad he’s in a better place now.
