can i vent for a moment about something?

Elizabeth Smart.

a beautiful young woman who was kidnapped and held hostage by a couple for 9 (?) months and raped multiple times. she went through a hell on earth. and she just got married to a man she met on a Mormon mission, and i wish them both the best life has to offer.

so there is an article on Yahoo (or video) about her wedding, as a preview to People magazine’s article on the wedding. and on Yahoo, the comments can be interesting. plenty of trolls, plenty of stupid people, plenty of bigots, plenty of people without common sense, but also plenty of people who have brains, a heart, and common sense.

on this video about Smart, there are people saying “i hate Mormons, i hope she divorces, she doesnt deserve happiness, here’s why Mormons are crap, Romney told her to get married, etc” all kinds of stuff that really made me upset.

the Mormon church is filled with wonderful people with strong standards that i wish i could maintain, and they all have good intentions. they just want people to be happy, and sometimes they mess up. everyone messes up. its part of being human. i dont think the Mormon church is crap. they are built on great values and lessons, and maybe they dont have everything right, but that is not our business to call them liars and idiots and such.

in fact, trying to paint Mormons black just puts the paint on you. perhaps those bigoted, heartless, dimwits could use a few lessons on how to be a good human being from Mormons. and from Romney, whether or not you support his view and way to run a government. he has to have something right, look where he is in life! a happy family, wealth, and a good job (sure, there are some politicians that are two faced liars, but it takes a LOT of work to reach where Romney is now). now those are things id like to have (just not a job in politics, ha)

and i hate how some people say she’s fake because the story is in People magazine. Smart gave People magazine permission to share the story, and it might have been for money, but i think she did it also because America has been wanting her to be happy for all these years, and now she can start a new chapter of her life.

just back off the Mormon church, or you will find yourself in an argument with me that you will lose. i have many friends who are Mormon, my family is Mormon, and i was raised Mormon, but because some of my beliefs and my lifestyle changed, i moved on to where i am now spiritually. but i still hold the Mormon church in the highest respect, because i know the Mormon church deserves it.
